6 Game-Changing Cricket Gadgets & Tech Tools for 2026

Introduction

In this guide to cricket gadgets tech tools, we explore how modern technology is transforming the game.
The days when cricket was only about bat & ball are gone. As technology upgrades and revolutionises the world, so does cricket. In this blog, I’m going to show you some advanced technologies that most of you may not know about or know very little about.

These cricket gadgets tech tools are changing how players train at all levels.

1. Smart Cricket Bats: Essential Cricket Gadgets Tech Tools

This is a treasure for the batsman as smart cricket bats and sensors are the tools that most cricketers have likely used at least once in their career to improve their overall growth as a batsman.

It is a must-use device for a batsman. not only because it shows the bat speed, but it also shows the impact speed of the bat when the ball touches the bat, bat lift angle, percentage of balls hit on the sweet spot (balls middled), etc.

Personally, I have used it once in my coaching. They stuck it behind my bat, and at that time, I felt a little extra weight on my bat. Later, when I came back from batting, I was astronished from my data. There, I get to know about my bat speed and impact speed, which I was to improve at that time, which I got to know from the sensor and many others.
This experience showed me how valuable cricket gadgets & tech tools can be for improvement.

Speaking of bat selection, choosing the right equipment is just as important as using tech. Learn how to pick the perfect bat in our guide: [How to Choose a Cricket Bat].

Nowadays, you will see many players using smart sensors in their training time, like Glenn Philips, David Miller, Yashasvi Jaiswal and many other players using a smart sensor from the company str8bat.

2. Smart Watches (Whoop)

It is one of the things that you might see many top-athlete wore from Virat Kohli to Cristiano Ronaldo, from LeBron James to many others.

Why is it one of the most popular tools nowadays? It is because it calculates so many things from our body that most of us don’t know about :). For calculating basic day-to-day steps to stress monitor, Recovery, sleep, strain scores, Women harmonal insights, etc.

One of the most fascinating things I like about it is – Explain how recovery score can help a player decide between a hard training day or a rest day. These cricket gadgets help optimise recovery between matches, and tracking sleep quality can improve the overall performance of the player.

There are others brand out there that you can also make a look at, like Garmin or Fitbit.

3. Bowling Speed Guns

A gem for bowlers, especially for fast bowlers. because it shows the speed of the ball a player is delivering to the batsman. It helps the players to improve their ball speed. Although this item is expensive but worth the money. And you’ll see these tools mostly in high-end coaching clubs.

It also helps the batsman, like if a batsman is playing 135+ kmph deliveries during training consistently without fearing, then it automatically increases the batsman’s and women’s self-esteem towards his/her game.

When choosing cricket gadgets & tech tools, consider your budget and specific needs.

Fun Fact: “The world’s fastest recorded delivery is 161.3 kmph by Shoaib Akhtar—measured by a speed gun!

4. Virtual Reality (VR) Batting Simulators

Although the VR industry is doing great in major areas, I think in sports like cricket, it is lagging, as a VR batting simulator is not much developed, or you can say it is not common in cricket, as far as I know. But, yeah, maybe after some years we can get the opportunity to use this cool technology in our game.

VR is going to be so cool, like imagine you facing 145-150 kmph deliveries in a fully different environment where you are not physically present. and playing it in MCG or Narendra Modi Stadium. JUST WOW!!!
While still emerging, these cricket gadgets & tools represent the future of training.

As a system, WIN Reality provides the atmosphere, but it is currently for Baseball.

5. Fitness & Nutrition Tracking Apps

Some apps are designed for athlete although I don’t know any specific apps for cricket, but apps like Strava or Sports Trackers help players in their fitness journey as well as in their wellbeing.

There are some other apps too in Playstore as well as in Appstore which are beneficial for players, and you can take advantage of that too for FREE (As many apps won’t charge you for their services). Digital tech tools make fitness tracking accessible to everyone.

Tip: “A cricketer needs 1.5–2 grams of protein per kg of body weight daily for optimal recovery.”

6. PitchVision / Hawk-Eye for Clubs

This technology isn’t for just one player; it helps the whole team.

Developed specifically for cricket, PitchVision uses fixed cameras and sensors to track every delivery in real-time. Unlike the multi-camera TV systems, it’s designed for the nets and club grounds. These professional cricket gadgets are now available to clubs.

Hawk-Eye, the iconic technology that you might have seen on international broadcasts, now offers a club-friendly version using fewer cameras and simpler software but delivers the same trusted data.

Bonus: Mindfulness & Focus Apps

This is one of my favourite topics. As many players focus on their physical body, most of them don’t seem good with their brains and inner selves. That’s why I personally encourage my junior players to start something related to their mental being. As cricket is okay, but your mind is the key weapon in any area of life.

I personally do Yoga and Meditation and I recommend everyone to do this. I know that over the years, it has helped me focus on my goals and remove much stress from my brain. Maybe at the start it would be boring, but trust me, after some months or years you will thank me 🙂

Nobody has seen form. It’s a state of mind where you are confident and you think very positively.
